Ameer becomes FEFSI chief

Popular filmmaker Ameer was elected as the president of Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) on Tuesday.

The actor-director was announced elected for the top position at the end of the counting of votes which were polled earlier in the day.

Out of the 65 votes polled, Ameer secured 37 votes and emerged triumphant. He defeated veteran director Visu by nine votes.

G Siva was elected as secretary and Angamuthu Shanmugam as treasurer. Talking to journalists, Ameer said he would work hard for the betterment of workers.
