Legendary singer K J Yesudas’s first song in Tamil was ‘Neeyum Bommai Naanum Bommai…’, which was composed by late S Balachander. The evergreen number has been remixed now.
And the one who has crooned for the new version is none other than Yesudas himself. He recorded for the song recently, for the upcoming film Moodar Koodam.
Actually, director Naveen and the film’s music composer Sankaran Natarajan approached Vijay Yesudas to sing the song. However, on coming to know that his first song is going to be remixed, Yesudas himself came forward to sing it.
Interestingly, this is his 50th year in the film industry. Yesudas has recorded more than 50,000 songs in many languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Gujarati, Oriya, Marathi, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tulu, Malay, Russian, Arabic, Latin and English during a career spanning five decades.
