Uttama Villain : Kamal to play dual role

The shooting for Kamal Haasan starrer Utama Villain is currently on in Chennai. Directed by Ramesh Aravind, the movie is produced by filmmaker N Lingusamy’s Thiruppathy Brothers in association with Rajkamal Films Internationals.

According to Ramesh Aravind, ‘The film features Kamal Haasan in dual role. He plays Utthaman, an 8th century drama actor and Manoranjan, a 21st century Superstar on big screen’.

The highlight of the movie is that veteran filmmaker K Balachander plays a prominent role.

‘The role of Manoranjan’s mentor, who groomed and guided him to superstardom is played by K Balachander’, he adds. Veteran actress Oorvasi plays Manoranjan’s wife and director K Vishwanath as his father-in-law in the film. ‘

The movie also has Vishwaroopam actress’ Andrea Jeremiah and Pooja Kumar. ‘Andrea Jeremiah plays Manoranjan’s love interest in the movie while Pooja Kumar essays the role of an emotionally disturbed princess in love with Utthaman’.

Nasser plays an overbearing dictator (Muttharasan) in 8th century story, while Jacob Zachariah played by Jayaram and his adopted daughter Parvathi Menon, are critical characters of the story, he adds.

M S Bhaskar dons the role of Chokku Chettiar. The movie has story and screenplay by Kamal Haasan. Cinematography is by Shyam Dutt, editing by Vijai Sankar and music by Ghibran.
