TN CM to inaugurate centenary fete of indian cinema

Come 21 September, all roads in Chennai will lead to Jawaharlal nehru Indoor Stadium where Tamilnadu Chief Minister J jayalalithaa will inaugurate the four-day fete being organised to celebrate 100 years of Indian cinema.

Held under the auspicies of SOuth indian Film Chamber of Commerce,

The event will witness the participation of Chief Ministers from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and karnataka.

Addressing media person in Chennai, C Kalyan, president, SIFCC, said,

‘The valedictory function on 24 September will witness the participation of President of India Pranab Mukherjee. Popular Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan too will grace the occasion’.

He said, ‘ The Chief Minister of Tamilnadu has been taking keen interest to ensure that the event turn out to be a memorable on in the history of Indian cinema’

There will be no shootings in Tamnilnadu from 18 September till 24 September, while theatres have agreed not to screen movies on 24 September, he said and added, ‘ as part of the centenary celebrations theatres like Sathyam and Abirami have agreed to screen yesteryear classics’
