Tete-a-te with KB, Rajni and Kamal

With remake of Thillu Mullu all set to go to floors today, the
director of the movie Badri and actor Mirchi Shiva chose to call on
veteran filmmaker K Balachander, Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan, who were
part of the original.

Mirchi Siva will reprise Rajini’s role in the remake, the role played
by Thengai Srinivasan will be played by Prakash Raj. Isha Talwar has
been finalised as the heroine. Interestingly veteran music composer M
S Viswanathan is joining hands with Yuvan Shankar Raja to score music
for the movie.

It may be recalled that Thillu Mullu made in 1981 was Rajinikanth’s
first full-length comedy film. He agreed to it solely due to the
strong suggestion by his mentor K Balachandar that he should do
non-commercial roles, to break the stereotyped action-hero mould by
which he was getting famous at the time. Rajinikanth had to shave his
mustache for Thillu Mullu, making it the first film which featured him
without a mustache
