After making a name for himself in all the four southern film industries, music director Sundar C Babu has now headed to Bollywood. He has composed two songs for Priyadarshan’s forthcoming film, which is an official remake of Nadodigal.
Sundar says, “I’ve worked on Nadodigal and its remake in other south languages. When Priyadarshan met me four years ago during the release of this film, he told me that he is planning to buy its remake rights, and that he will get me on board the project as well. But I hadn’t met or spoken with him ever since.
Then, he recently announced the film’s Hindi remake, and composers Sajid and Wajid were roped in for it. But I was pleasantly surprised when Priyan called me and asked me to compose two songs for it. He remembered his words!” Sundar has recreated the Sambho Siva Sambho… number, and composed one more track for the film.
“Sajid- Wajid had recorded a new version of Sambo…, but they were not happy with it. So, they met up with me, and we worked on the song. The second song will be a montage number, and will appear when the protagonists start leading a new life,” he adds, “It feels great to see my name in the title card of a Hindi film.”
