Superstar Rajinikanth has taken exception to his fans club office bearer’s decision to contest in the by-election to Pudukottai constituency, which is scheduled to be held on June 12.
In a message through the All India Rajinikanth Fans Club president Sudhakar, Rajini has urged Sridhar, who is the district secretary of Pudukottai District Fans Association, to withdraw the nomination he had filed to contest in the bypoll.
The top star further said if he wanted to go ahead with his decision to contest polls, Sridhar could do so, but without using the name or flag of the fans club.
The district secretary of Rajinikanth Fans Association on Monday filed his nomination to contest in the Pudukottai assembly by polls as an Independent candidate.
However, Sridhar, who is the secretary of the district Rajinikanth fans club since 1998, said he was not contesting on behalf of Rajinikanth Fans Association. He has been associated with the fans club since 1983.
