Nadigar Sangam row: HC issues notice

The Madras High Court was Thursday moved for a direction declaring as null and void a 99 year lease deed alloting nearly 19 grounds belonging to Nadigar Sangam Charitable Trust of in Chennai valued at about Rs 150 crore, at a ‘meagre rent’.

The petition filed by S Murugan and P A Kaja Mohideen contended that Sarath Kumar and Radha Ravi, office bearers of the trust, had failed to constitute a board of the trust to take a decision on constructing a multiplex and shopping mall in the Nadigar Sangam premises at T Nagar.

After hearing the petition, Justice R Subbiah ordered notice, returnable by one week, to Sarath Kumar, Radha Ravi and SPI Cinemas (P) Limited (which had entered into an agreement to construct the complex).
