There is a fear among directors on sketching negative characters in their movies after the troubles encountered by Vishwaroopam in the lead-up to its release, noted film director K S Ravikumar has said.
Speaking at the audio launch of Vinay-starrer Onbadhula Guru in Chennai on Tuesday, the director-actor said, ‘We need a baddie in films. Naming that character draws flak from various quarters these days. Making a movie and releasing has become very difficult’.
Actor Vijay graced the function along with his father S A Chandrasekhar, a noted director himself. It may be noted that the film directed by P T Selvakumar, a former public relations person of actor Vijay, and is touted to be a humour-based entertainer.
The film’s cast includes Vinay, Lakshmi Rai, Premgi, Aravind, Manthra and others. Music is by K of Mugamoodi-fame.
