Laurels heaped on SSR

Laurels heaped on SSR Nadigar Sangam organised a memorial meeting to pay rich tributes to veteran actor S S Rajendran, who passed away recently.

At the meeting a huge portrait of the actor was kept and floral tributes were paid.

In a career spanning over six decades, he has over 100 films to his credit. SSR has the rare distinction of being the first actor to get elected as MLA (1962). He was known for his attractive personality and clear pronunciation of Tamil on screen and he had shared the screen with legends including MGR and Sivaji Ganesan.

Madhurai Adheenam was the chief gust for the occasion. Members of various tade bodies including Nadigar Sangam president Sarath Kumar were present on the occasion.
