Film personalities pay last respects to Balasubramanaim Film personalities, politicians and people frpm all walks of life paid their last respects to S Balasubramanian, the chairman of the Vikatan group of publications, who died on Friday night.

The likes of veteran producer A V M Saravanan, lyricist vairamuthu, actor Sivakumar and his son Suriya, comedian Soori among others were the early ones to pay their last respect today.

Balasubramaniam was 78 and is survived by his wife, a son and six daughters. Son of film producer and owner of Gemini Studios S S Vasan, who founded the magazine, Balasubramanian made many revolutionary changes in the content of Ananda Vikatan and persuaded Tamil writer Jayakanthan, who had been writing till then only in smaller magazines, to contribute to Vikatan.
