At a time when commercial cinemas rule the roost, debutant filmmaker Vijay Arun is coming up with . A movie that speaks about the travails of two contrasting women in a village.

Says the director, ‘Karupazhagi speaks about a girl, who lives for the welfare of the people around. She invites the wrath of a arrogant girl who wants to eliminate her. They lock horns with each other in this emotional tale’.

‘We shot the movie in a single schedule in Karaikal, Thirunallaru, Tharangampadi, Needamangalam and its adjoining areas’, he adds.

Playing the lead role is newcomer Amith. Victoria plays the heroine. Shilpa, a Goan beauty is also in the cast. Yuvarani, Singamuthu, Ajay Rathnam, Meera Krishnan play pivotal characters. Aadhi Sivan and Vivek Jambaki don the roles with grey shades.

Besides wielding the megaphone, Vijay Arun has written the story, dialogues, screenplay and lyrics for the movie. Music is by Velan and cinematography and editing by Kannadasan. Produced by Paagai Senthil, the movie will hit the screens next month.
