Balu Mahendra is a big source of inspiration for young filmmakers. He continued to be so on the other day, when a press meet was organised to announce a film titled Yamuna.
Directed by Ganesh Babu, an actor and a student of Balu Mahendra’s cinema school, the film is complete and ready for release.
Speaking on the occasion, Balu Mahendra advised to newcomers that ‘we could make world cinemas even in Kodambakkam studios.’
He added: ‘Four of my boys are involving in this project. Thats why I’m here… For the past few years I’m giving training for acting to many new comers in my school. After completing the course, the boy have to work in Kodambakkam only. But dont be vexed to be here. One can make world classics even from Kodambakkam studios. Remember the classics like Parasakathi, Palum pazhamum or Azhiyatha Kolangal…’
Later the director has criticised the way of film review writing by the present critics. He appealed to write reviews in new way.
